UNAIR NEWS– Varicose veins are caused by various factors.According to dr.Yoga in a presentation in “Mother Care Program”, first, they occur due to female or gender factors.Women experience pregnancy and the period of pregnancy can be a burden.In addition, activity in the kitchen makes women stand a lot.
The other factor is heredity.When a grandmother or elderly had varicose veins, the individual may be very likely to have varicose veins.
“Symptoms are swelling.The veins stand out and turn blue and purple.In fact, wound is hard to heal because the blood flow that brings nutrients from the heart is disrupted, “said dr.Yoga in the activity.
Diagnosis of varicose veins is not necessarily done privately.Dr. Yoga advised to check them at the nearest vascular clinic and examination procedure is performed.There should be Q&A session with the doctor, physical examination with avein viewertool, and ultrasound (Ultrasonography)exam to the lower thighs.

The counseling and examination in Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic, Room A, second floor of RSUA was not only attended by mothers, but also students from other universities.Kevin Giovinda, one of the participants from STIE Mahardhika Surabaya, admitted that although he learns accounting, he and his friends really want to get knowledge about varicose veins after being told by the lecturer.
