Sang Ksatrya Mahapurusha Contest Winner of Airlangga Wayang Story Script

UNAIR NEWSSang Ksatrya Mahapurusa,a script written by Amri Bayu Saputra, S.Sn., was chosen as the best script in the contest of Wayang script of Airlangga story. The contest was held by 51 in celebrating 62nd Dies Natalis of 51 and was announced by the committee on Saturday, November 19 in the same evening with the wayang performance, Airlangga Sumbaga Wiratama, in the carpark of CampusB.

As we all know, the contest was held for Wayang Airlangga Festival, in celebrating 62nd Dies Natalis of 51. With the winner announcement, Festival Wayang Airlangga officially closed and before it there was also a seminar, Wayang Airlangga: Varian Baru dalam Jagat Pewayangan Indonesia in Siti Parwati Hall, FIB UNAIR, Saturday morning, November 19.

Before the performance of Airlangga Sumbaga Wiratamain the evening, UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., CMA., presented the prizes to the winner. The first winner got Rp. 12 million.

The judging council led by Dr. Sri Teddy Rusdy, SH., M.Hum., between the first winner and the second was a slight different point. It showed a tight competition. From five judges, the first winner got 1,185 points while the second winner, Aneng Kiswantoro, M.Sn, got 1,180 points. Only five points different gap. Aneng Kiswantoro wrote a script titledSumilaking Medang Kahuripan.

The third winner was Tatag Taufani Anwar with his workAirlangga Nurapati. Amri, the first winner from Sidoarjo got Rp 12 million, the second winner got Rp 10 million, then the third winner got Rp 8 million.

According to the other judge, Dra. Adi Setijowati, M.Hum., who was also the head of the committee of the contest, there were 12 participants from various regions, some of them were dalang, artist, Javanese literary practitioners, also wayang enthusiasts.

According to the team of judges led by Dr. Sri Teddy Rusdy, the excellence of Amri Bayu Saputras script were seen from some points. It was a simple work based on traditional varieties and then he included the complete version of it with the notation scores. Amri also used simple and easy to understand language. He even included the musical backgrounds of the performance.

Because the work eases the player to provide musical backgrounds, and it was also complete and concise to ease anyone who wants to perform the story, concluded the judging result.

As we all know, before the contest, the committee also had a discussion. It is to brief the participants with during their writing. In the discussion, there was an archeologist and historian from UI and UNAIR. (*)
