UNAIRNEWS Sitting in a front row in the class, taking notes of important things the presents, doing individual and group tasks wholeheartedly, and setting life goals. Those are the tips from Azmil Mufarricha Fajarani who was finally awarded the best bachelor graduate on March 2017 graduation day from the (FPK) 51动漫.
淚檓 happy because at least there is a little thing which makes my parents proud, said Azmil, the one who earned Grade Point Average (IPK) of 3,81.
Azmil admitted, the research process had not always been smooth. With her three colleagues, when coming back from Banyuwangi after doing a research practice, she once fell asleep on the floor of the terminal waiting room, only to look for some raw material of Halymenia durvillei seaweed.
The young woman, born in Bojonegoro, compiled a final essay entitled 淭he Effect of Extraction檚 Length of Time using Pressured Hot Water to the Yield and the Quality of Lambda Carrageenan in Halymenia durvillei Seaweed. Carrageenan is the extraction essence from seaweed which can be used as a compound in cosmetics.
According to this 23-year old FPK graduate, Halymenia durvillei is one of the kinds of seaweed which has potential to be carrageenan, but has not yet been found useful optimally. Moreover, this Halymenia durvillei is suitable to be cultivated by seaweed farmers in Indonesia because it has resistance to pests which commonly strike seaweed.
However, Azmil stays optimistic that the economics of our marine sector can be developed further. That is because the natural resources here in Indonesia are highly conducive to this.
淚 feel optimistic, considering that our natural resources are very conducive to that. However, in terms of industry, it does take a long time for our country to do a mass production, Azmil concluded. (*)
