UNAIR NEWS – Two 51¶¯Âþ students have been awarded ’28 Inspiring Youth 2017 Sidoarjo Regency’.They are Ahadin Syarifudin Fahmi Adimara Master student of Occupational Health and Safety, Faculty of Public Health and Revindia Carina undergraduate student of Communication Studies, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UNAIR.
Inspiring Youth Sidoarjo is a program initiated by Pemkab Sidoarjo, National Youth Committee of Indonesia (KNPI), and Jawa Pos.The award was given in conjunction with the ceremony of the 89th Anniversary of the Youth Pledge Day in Sidoarjo Square on Monday, October 30.
The judges in this Sidoarjo Inspiring Youth election were from the Sidoarjo regency, Jawa Pos, KNPI, and officials of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).
“The selection was very strict based on their work.We monitor in one year and we chose the best three of 28 nominees.Later from this 28 we take top three, “said Head of General Affairs Sidoarjo, Ari Suryono.
Later, the announcement of the winners and prizes for the three youths will be held on the anniversary of Sidoarjo in January 2018.
There were 28 outstanding and dedicated young candidates selected to represent their respective fields from education, arts, entrepreneurship, tourism, to other fields categorized inspiring many people.Fahmi entered in the category of digital creative and Revindia entered in the category of tourism.
Some of Fahmi™s achievements on a global scale included his photography work used for the main website of Local Guides, for the Local Guides website with the view of Indonesian tourist destinations, for the background of Local Guides presentation material spread all over the world.He was also selected one of 100 Google Street View Trusted Photographer in Indonesia.
In 207 Fahmi was invited to Google’s headquarters in Mountain View America as Top Local Guides in the 2017 Local Guides Summit.
While Revindia successfully won international achievement in Miss Global Beauty Queen in Korea.Some achievements that Revindia achieved in the event were Best National Costume, Miss Best Talent, and Miss Internet Popularity.
After the award, the Regent of Sidoarjo, H. Saiful Ilah, SH, M.Hum gave an advice to Fahmi and Revindia.
“For both of you, maintain good reputation of Sidoarjo and Indonesia.Tell the other youth that they are inspired with you, so that the youth in Sidoarjo are more creative, become achievers, and no one is unemployed.Achievement will also prevent young people from doing negative things, “said Saiful.
Meanwhile, Fahmi hoped through the awards he can collaborate with various parties.
“I encouraged friends of Sidoarjo youth who haveintrovertednaturewith works, do not stop trying because you can also inspire through what you have today.Because youth today can inspire from every field of science, “said Fahmi.
“Glad to be selected with the other youth.Withthisaward, we both feel honored in our own neighborhood.It will be a motivation, we should be more inspiring, to be proud and more passionate to create more works, “said Revindia.(*)
