UNAIR Dental Engineering Gives Free Artificial Teeth Service

UNAIR NEWS “51¶¯Âþ (UNAIR) Faculty of Vocational Studies (FV) Dental Engineering students held community service in Dawuhansengon Village, Purwodadi sub-district, Pasuruan regency.The program was named “Abdi Desa VI” and focused on people who need partial artificial teeth.

The community service involved 44 people with 16 delegations from other programs such as dental medicine (FKG), livestock health, traditional medicine, and nursing. There were also nine lecturers who helped and supervised the event.

Head of Abdi Desa VI Committee Gravysa Denta said that the purpose of the service was to provide education on dental health. To make the program a success, several activities were carried out, such as the making of artificial teeth for free. It was also done to hold healthy life campaign.

Another objective of this service is the implementation of knowledge obtained from the lectures. It will mold their personality in facing society, especially patience and thoroughness.

“Pre-elementary dental education in pre-school must also be promoted to maintain dental health from an early age,” said Gravysa.

Gravysa also said that dedication does not only focus on dental health. Dawuhansengon residents can also enjoy free health checks. Furthermore, their livestock also received vitamins and worm injections by livestock health program team. Traditional medicine team also gave facial massage service to the residents.

The Village Chief Dawuhansengon M. Ja’par Sodik revealed that the activities carried out by Dental Engineering students can create dental health awareness even from an early age. Not only that, but this service also strengthens relationships between residents and students.

“In addition to enlivening Dawuhansengon Village, students also helped disadvantaged residents through free dental and social services,” said Ja’par.

The community service held by Dental Engineering students and several other program delegations were able to bring public confidence to the dentists. This event really helped people the residents. It is expected to bring a better program next year. (*)
