UNAIR Sends Third Team for Lombok Earthquake

UNAIR NEWS –An earthquake that occurred in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has inspired all elements of nation to help.Various kinds of aid in the form of food, clothing, health, and volunteers came from various regions, the government, social humanitarian institutions, and educational institutions also contribute to providing various assistance.Academic community of was one of them.

After sending a medical team consisting of nurses and doctors and Floating Hospital, UNAIR continued to send various aid.This time, initiated by UNAIR Community Service Institute (LPM) and collaborated with students who were members of Mountaineering Club (Wanala), a team was sent off by UNAIR Prof.Moh.Nasih on Friday August 10.

In his remarks at the sending off ceremony held in front of Ulul Azmi Campus C, Prof.Nasih gave thanks to all those who have participated and contributed to earthquake disaster relief aid in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara especially, the Community Service Institute (LPM) UNAIR which has initiated the activity.

“Concern for others is an effort and a form that the pillars of the Higher Education Tri Dharma should be upright.One of them is community service, ” he explained.

Prof.Nasih also said that previously UNAIR had dispatched a medical team consisting of nurses and doctors in the UNAIR Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine as well as the Floating Hospital.

“This time, by involving students who are members of Wanala, we hope that the departing team can reach remote areas,” he explained.“And the main thing in helping others and most important is not the value but the sincerity,” he added.

Meanwhile, Head of LPM UNAIR Prof.Jusuf Irianto added that in addition to dispatching the Wanala team, this aid was cooperation from many parties.In addition to UNAIR Hospital with its medical team and the Floating Hospital which had already departed, various parties within UNAIR also took part in the social humanitarian activities.

“Various parties such as UNAIR Social Fund Development Center and Ulul Azmi Mosque also donated cash, medicines, and various daily needs of earthquake victims,” 媼he said.
